ANWAR DIOUMAN APPOINTED TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

TORONTO WEST APPOINTS ANWAR DIOUMAN (NCCP Level 3)
AS TECHNICAL DIRECTOR FOR JUNIOR COACHES

The Toronto West Volleyball Club is pleased to announce the appointment of ANWAR DIOUMAN as Technical Director for our club’s developing coaches. Anwar will be responsible for mentoring our developing coaches with regards to program planning and application as well as monitoring team training within the parameters of LTAD.

Anwar is an FIVB LEVEL 2 COACH and a now FULLY CERTIFIED NCCP LEVEL 3 COACH. Anwar brings to T-WEST a lifetime wealth of understanding and ability as an international- level Setter and Coach. Before coming to Canada in 2002, Anwar was already a well known and respected Volleyball coach of the highest caliber in the African Confederation of the FIVB:

• Following his career as an international setter, Anwar applied his passion and great understanding of the game through the successful completion of FIVB Level 1 and Level 2 Coaching courses.
• Anwar coached high level Club Teams, both men and women, with outstanding performances winning the 1st Division championships several times.
• As Head Coach, Anwar won the GOLD Medal with the National Junior Ladies Team in the 1996 African Junior Championship, thus qualifying for the Junior World Championship in Poland in 1997.
• Anwar was then appointed Head Coach of the Senior national teams, both Men and Women, in international competition winning the GOLD Medal in the 1989 3rd Indian Oceans Games and was appointed in 1998 Head Coach of the Women’s National Team in its campaign for the FIVB Women’s Team 2001 project.
• Following his successful coaching at the 1997 World Championship and the completion of several advanced coaching seminars in Tunisia and Australia and Spain, Anwar was nominated ONE STAR COACH FIVB in 1997.

Anwar immigrated to Canada in 2002 and has since then proven himself as a most knowledgeable, skilled and effective coach of our age division teams. Anwar’s understanding of sound training principles and creative programming within the LTAD model make Anwar the ideal resource person for the development of our youth programs.

Anwar has repeatedly distinguished himself as a T-WEST coach by leading our teams to Provincial and National Championships and Medals.
Aside from being a resource person for our young coaches, Anwar will also be coaching the T-WEST 17U Girls team during the upcoming season.
